With this fall's Apple Keynote over, we now have all the details regarding Apple's 2019-2020 line-up of new iPhones and other tech, like Apple Watch and Apple TV+ (hello streaming service!). A lot of stuff was covered, from the new iPad to the Series 5 Apple Watch, but here at Nomad, we are most excited about iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Check out our team's favorite new features in Apple's latest generation of iPhones below.
All of 2019's iPhones now feature an Ultra Wide lens, giving you the ability to capture shots twice as wide. The possibilities are endless with Ultra Wide, from capturing the vistas at the top of mountain to the crowd at a packed restaurant. We are pleased to see the iPhone 11, successor to the popular iPhone XR, feature the Ultra Wide lens.
With an MSRP of $700, this is the best deal Apple has ever released in terms of mobile photography. The iPhone is already the most used camera in the world and with the release of the 11 we can only imagine where mobile photography will go next. The iPhone 11 also comes with Apple's new Night Mode (included with the 11 Pro and Pro Max as well), which allows you to capture images in a low light setting, while maintaining richer colors. Night mode turns on automatically whenever you are shooting in low light.
The iPhone 11 Pro is the most photo focused iPhone we have ever seen from Apple and, as they stressed during the keynote, it was designed with the pro in mind. The triple lens array on the 11 Pro and Pro Max offer unparalleled options for photographers, making it a seriously professional tool.
The iPhone 11 Pro models come with the Ultra Wide Camera, Wide Camera, and Telephoto Camera, all of which fits right into your pocket. It’s almost hard to believe the versatility that fits right into your pocket, anything from an ultra wide shot to a focused portrait is just a touch away, all you have to do is get out there and shoot.
Not only does the Triple Lens Array add to the iPhone's stills repertoire, it also gives videographers more tools to work with. The iPhone 11 Pro continues to offer 4k Video at an even faster 60 fps per second, up over the 30 fps of the iPhone X generation. On top of that, Apple now offers video editing in the Photos app, making high quality mobile videography easier than ever before.
Chips are quite possibly the most overlooked feature every time a new iPhone is released, which is ironic considering how much they radically change iPhones every year. Last year's lineup of iPhones used some of the most powerful smartphone chips available, but with the release of the iPhone 11 Pro, Pro Max and 11, Apple has really upped the ante. The A13 Chip is the most impressive we've ever seen in a smartphone. Many of the innovations found on iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, from increased augmented reality support to longer battery life are made possible by A13.
Not only is the A13 the most powerful smartphone chip ever, it is also the most efficient. Increased efficiency means longer battery life. And iPhone 11 and 11 Pro clocks in with some serious battery life: up to 26 hours for the iPhone 11, 24 hours for the iPhone 11 Pro and 30 hours for the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
As always, Apple continues to innovate with each generation of new iPhones. Here at Nomad, we try to do our part and innovate on the cases front. We've not only released new cases for all the new iPhones in our Signature Horween Leather from the famed Horween Tannery in Chicago, we've also built a whole new line up of hydrophobic Active Leather cases, using leather sourced from the Heinen Tannery in Germany.
