After over two years of design and development, Stratos Band is finally here. Designed from the ground up for Apple Watch Ultra, Stratos Band combines titanium and FKM to create the ultimate Apple Watch accessory. 

To celebrate its launch, we’re taking a closer look at why we made it, what went into the design process, and how it’s different from other bands on the market.

While metal bands prioritize style and athletic bands prioritize comfort, Stratos Band strikes the perfect balance of both. It blends the strength and sophistication of titanium with the flexibility and comfort of FKM, so you can transition effortlessly between any setting without swapping out your band.

Stratos Band challenged us to push past the limits of what an Apple Watch band could look and feel like. We reimagined processes we’ve relied on for years, combining everything we’ve learned from our bestselling Sport Band and Titanium Band to create something entirely new: a band that looks like a metal bracelet but wears like a high-performance band. 

Stratos Band’s hardware is made from Grade 4 titanium, a material prized for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. The metal components of the band are finished with a DLC coating to protect your band from everyday wear and tear. 

The titanium links went through several iterations to get just right. Each one is gently rounded to create a sleek, modern look that feels like a natural extension of Apple Watch Ultra.

Stratos Band is lined with compression-molded FKM links that gives the band its flexibility and lasting comfort. The interior links are shaped with a subtle M-contour on the underside, which lifts the FKM just slightly above the titanium structure beneath. This design does two important things: it creates space for ventilation channels that help moisture evaporate, and it ensures that only the soft, flexible FKM touches your wrist.

Each link is also carefully angled to prevent pinching, so the band flexes smoothly without catching hairs. The result is a secure, breathable fit that stays comfortable all day. And with three colorways to choose from, the FKM adds just the right amount of contrast and personality to Stratos Band’s clean, purposeful design.

We took the ultra-secure magnetic clasp from Titanium Band and refined it even further. Stratos Band’s closure uses a nickel-plated neodymium magnet for improved corrosion resistance, while a durable DLC coating protects the buckle from everyday wear. The buckle is finished with a subtle, laser-engraved Nomad logo.

A perfect fit makes all the difference. That’s why Stratos Band includes two half-sized links that let you fine-tune your fit down to the millimeter. Simply pop them into place to dial in your comfort.

The buckle also features two spring bar attachment points for precise adjustment. With the included tool, you can press and reposition the spring bar inside the buckle link to slightly tighten or loosen the band. This mechanism gives you complete control over comfort and wearability, keeping your band secure whether you’re training, working, or winding down. You may notice a small gap that reveals a bit of titanium after adjustment, which is completely normal and part of the design.

The result of years of work, Stratos Band is unlike any other band we’ve made for Apple Watch. With its tough titanium shell and flexible FKM core, it’s as comfortable as it is capable, perfect for use from sunrise to sunset.
