As we say goodbye to 2023, we’re reflecting on the incredible journey we've shared with each and every one of you. From the much-anticipated launches of iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Ultra to the flourishing success of our Limited Edition program, it's been a year marked by excitement and innovation.
Let’s take a closer look at these achievements as well as some other notable highlights from 2023.
Our iPhone 15 case lineup struck a balance between familiarity and innovation. We continued our partnerships with Horween Leather Company and Danish tannery Ecco to offer Modern Leather Case and Modern Leather Folio, two of our longest running and most popular iPhone accessories. Sport Case and Rugged Case also made triumphant returns, this time in bold new colorways including eye-catching Super Blue and fan-favorite Ultra Orange.
When Apple announced Apple Watch Ultra and the new Series 9, all eyes turned to our band lineup. Sport Band quickly emerged as our top seller, boasting a winning combination of style, comfort, and performance. Our Natural Titanium Band was another leading favorite, with a silvery matte finish designed to complement the Ultra.
2023 also witnessed the creation of our Limited Edition program. The year’s colorways were carefully chosen by our Product Team based on what we were loving at the time and what you all recommended. These colors were only produced once, lending some extra buzz to each launch.
Limited Edition highlights include High Volta, Electric Blue, and Glow in the Dark (which you all sold out in a record-breaking 11 hours). Honorable mentions include our Strike colorways, Atlantic Blue, Blaze, and currently available Racing Yellow (get it while you still can).
As a proud Brand Ambassador for BWBS, we committed to exclusively booking freight companies with low-speed boats with the goal of protecting whales and reducing fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions. This September, an ambassador from Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies stopped by our office to present us a trophy for our commitment to more sustainable shipping practices. The trophy is proudly displayed front and center in our office.
In an effort to reduce product waste, we added dozens of items to our Open Box Sale. 1 Million Orders
In a monumental achievement earlier last year, we proudly reached the milestone of fulfilling 1 million orders. This feat stands as a testament to the unwavering support of the Nomad community, without whom this accomplishment would not have been possible. We extend our deepest gratitude for your trust, loyalty, and enthusiasm.
As our company flourished, our team expanded globally, welcoming Nomads from Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and beyond. The culmination of our diverse and talented team was experienced during our quarterly in-person Major Week in December at our Santa Barbara headquarters. This gathering provided the perfect backdrop for team members, once familiar only through virtual Zoom meetings, to finally connect in person at our downtown office.
Over the course of the year, Nomad continued to play an integral part in the Santa Barbara community. A notable highlight was our sponsorship of the annual Santa Barbara 5K and Half Marathon. Over a dozen of our Santa Barbara-based crew completed the race (and helped drain a post-run keg from local brewery M. Special).
All this would not have been possible without you all. As we embark on the promising journey that is 2024, we want to extend our gratitude to each and every one of you for being the driving force behind our successes.
