Earlier today, Apple unveiled iPhone 16 and Apple Watch Series 10 during their 'Glowtime' event. Here’s what you need to know, and what you can expect from Nomad.

Apple is increasing the size of the iPhone 16 Pro models. iPhone 16 Pro now features a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch screen—the largest ever on an iPhone. These larger displays mean the phones are slightly taller and wider than the iPhone 15 Pro models, though the thickness remains nearly the same. The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have the same dimensions as their iPhone 15 counterparts.

One of the most exciting updates is the introduction of two new buttons. The Action Button, previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models, will now be available across the entire iPhone 16 lineup. This button can be customized to perform various functions including turning off alarms, adjusting screen brightness, and more. 

Apple is also adding a new Camera Control button that functions like a camera shutter, with pressure sensitivity for precise focus before capturing photos or videos. Press the button to take a photo, hold it to record a video, and slide your finger to zoom. You can even double-press to access more camera controls. Thanks to Visual Intelligence, the Camera Control button can also recognize objects, events, and more, all in real time. Conveniently placed on the right side, this button enhances camera usability in both portrait and landscape modes. It’s flush with the surface of the side bezel and color-matched to the iPhone to create a seamless, modern look.

The all-new A18 Pro chip significantly boosts performance and efficiency. Built with advanced 3-nanometer technology, it features a faster 16-core Neural Engine, a 6-core CPU, and a 6-core GPU that delivers up to 20% faster graphics. The chip also enables better gaming experiences with smoother frame rates and ultra-realistic lighting. It improves on-device tasks with increased memory bandwidth and powers features like the Always-On display and ProMotion. Plus, the A18 Pro supports faster USB 3 speeds and handles 2x the video data for quicker encoding. 

The A18 is optimized for running machine learning and Apple Intelligence, two major standouts for iPhone 16. Starting next month, Apple Intelligence will roll out via a free software update, bringing new capabilities like text editing, emoji creation, and smart photo searches.

With improved language understanding, Siri can now interpret commands more accurately, even if you mispeak or stumble over your words. You can also type your requests instead of speaking them, giving you more flexibility. Siri now offers step-by-step guidance on navigating through your iPhone and can act on your texts—like playing a song directly from a message.

Camera innovation doesn’t stop with the Camera Control button. With every iPhone series, Apple makes significant strides in camera technology and this year is no different. The iPhone 16 Pro models now feature a larger 1/1.4-inch sensor for sharper, more detailed images, especially in low light. 

The Pro models also come equipped with a 48MP Fusion camera for high-resolution shots, plus new anti-lens flare material to reduce glare. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 16 models will shift to a vertical lens layout, enabling them to capture Spatial Video for the Vision Pro headset.

The standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are available in five new colorways: Pink, Ultramarine, Teal, White, and Black.

Meanwhile, iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are available in Black Titanium, Natural Titanium, White Titanium, and Desert Titanium.

Apple has introduced a sleek new Black colorway for the Apple Watch Ultra 2. This band features a sand-blasted, DLC-coated satin finish and continues to offer industry-leading GPS accuracy in a sports watch.

Apple also launched the Apple Watch Series 10 in two sizes: 46mm and 42mm. The new series has the largest display ever built into a wearable, with rounded corners for a sleeker, more expansive look. The display is now 40% brighter when viewed at an angle, improving readability in any setting. New medical features include a more accurate ECG and heart rate sensor, along with cutting-edge sleep apnea detection.
